Sing for Fun - Adult Classes

If you have always wanted to sing but not sure if you can, or have the confidence, then try Belcanto Vocal Workshops 'Sing for Fun'.

These adult singing classes are specifically designed to help you discover your singing voice in a friendly, fun atmosphere and sing as part of a group. You will learn vocal warm ups, breathing techniques and sing various styles of music.

As a professional singing teacher, Elizabeth encourages singers to discover their voices and gives everyone the choice of singing the tune or harmony for each song. With a little bit of help and encouragement, people are often surprised at the notes they can reach. It's all about the joy of group singing, so there are no soloists, which means that everyone gets an equal chance to sing.

You’ll be amazed at what you can achieve when you belt with Belcanto Vocal Workshops.

IMG_5355.jpg

The aim of the course was to develop the whole musician and vocalist through the study of age appropriate repertoire.

Each morning started with a vocal warm up and choir rehearsal, followed by musicianship classes which developed sight reading and aural skills. Movement workshops developed rhythm skills, vocal technique and performance skills.

This course was a fulfilling and dynamic course of workshops that culminated in a  short performance for family and friends at the end of the second week.

When and Where

The course was in June 2014 at the Wexford Opera House culminating in a short performance in the Jerome Hynes Theatre.

This was an exciting opportunity to meet other participants and the course tutors, become familiar with the building and rounded off the morning with some gentle singing.

The Tutors

Elizabeth Drwal

The course will be led by Elizabeth Drwal. Elizabeth specialises in teaching singing, musicianship and performance skills to young singers.

Deirdre Grant

She will be joined by local choreographer Deirdre Grant who will lead the group in an imaginative exploration of musical form and rhythm through movement

Edward McCarthy

The ever popular energetic workshops of Edward McCarthy will give a greater understanding of how character and emotion can be expressed through the body.
